Trentwood & The Enviroment

Timber is a durable material which can be used in so many ways as a fencing product, but if it's not grown in a sustainable way, or treated in the right way, its longevity will be compromised. Sub-standard fencing materials that aren't treated properly will need to replaced more frequently, which undermines any effort to use timber in a sustainable way.

Trentwood Fencing takes environmental issues very seriously, which is why all the fencing materials we use are supplied by Oxfordshire’s only fully certified member of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

We only use timber that has been correctly treated to ensure long life and durability.

The FSC is an international organisation whose sole purpose is to promote responsible management and sustainability of the worlds forests.

Established in the mid 1990’s, nearly 100 million hectors of forest covering 79 countries are certified according to FSC standards. Over 8000 companies have chain of custody certification. Chain of custody (COC) certification basically provides evidence that timber originates from well managed forests. It helps consumers and traders make informed decisions about the timber they buy.
